As we move toward the Lenten Season, AGP has a few things in store. Please keep the following dates in mind:
1. The Schola Cantorum Franciscana will return on the first Sunday of Lent, February 26, 2023, at the 7:00 PM Mass at Holy Trinity Church. Please come to enjoy the music of the Franciscan University of Steubenville Schola Cantorum as we begin the Lenten Season.
2. Music ministers Juliette and Sam Tirone will begin offering a piano/guitar/vocal monthly ministry. They will begin at St. Malachy Church on February 25, 2023, at the 4:00 PM Mass.
3. The music ministry will continue its tradition of a Lenten eucharistic adoration series on Wednesday evenings immediately following the 6:30 PM daily Mass at Holy Trinity Church. The dates for this year will be March 1, March 15, and March 29, and the music ministry seeks vocalists and instrumentalists to provide contemplative, eucharistic and/or Lenten-themed music for each date. Please consider offering your musical talents and contact me with any questions or thoughts: [email protected]. Many thanks for your prayerful discernment.
Contemporary Choir and Instrumentalists - Call for Participants “I will praise You with music played on a harp because You have been faithful, O my God. I will sing praises to You with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.” Psalm 71
For many years predating Covid-19, Mr. Dan Gallagher has provided music for Mass at St. Malachy Church. He and Ms. Diane Obed plan to restart the contemporary choir and seek singers and instrumentalists who are interested in offering their musical talents to praise God and enhance the AGP liturgy on a monthly basis. **In particular, we need a keyboardist.** If interested, please contact Dan Gallagher at 412-225-5455 or email: [email protected].
