On Sunday, October 6, Fr. Ken Marlovits, Fr. Jacob Gruber, and Deacon Tim Killmeyer celebrated the Rite of Acceptance for Annie Baich, Bruce Feagins, and Elana Lieberman. During this rite, the Inquirer stands before the parish community to state their desire for baptism as a Catholic Christian, and they are accepted into the Order of Catechumens. They will continue in the Period of the Catechumenate from now until Lent, when we as a parish will witness the next rite in their journey to baptism at the Easter Vigil.
In his homily, Fr. Gruber echoed the joy of the occasion, saying, "The most precious fruit of a parish and our most precious treasure is the amount of people we start to bring to the light of Christ...and so we are particularly joyful today...Praise God for the gift of today."
Congratulations to our new Catechumens. Please keep Annie, Bruce, and Elana in your prayers.
