Ladies of Charity (LOC) is a world-wide organization of Catholic women drawn together by their love of Christ and their willingness to serve those in need through PRAYER and SERVICE with humility, simplicity, and charity. The Archangel Gabriel Parish LOC work to meet the needs of members of our parish and the community, having contributed a combined 9,669 volunteer hours in 2022 through service-oriented projects including:
Praying for those who have physical/spiritual needs, vocations, the unclaimed dead, and our parish, including through the Traveling Chalice Program, prayer walks, Stations of the Cross, and Cemetery Sunday.
The Annual Parish Christmas Project for the homebound, persons with disabilities, and individuals in need.
Nursing home and homebound card ministry, including Christmas and Easter remembrances.
Hosting Vitalant blood drives.
Assisting the AGP Food Pantry and supporting Catholic Charities, the Women’s Shelter, and the FOR.
Sponsoring the Baby CHRISTmas in July Project, in support of Lifeline.
Greeting and assisting participants during the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick.
Baking monthly for Christ Community Church’s community dinners (McKees Rocks).
Working the Cookie Patch (along with the Ladies Guild) for the AGP Nationality Festival and Fish Fry.
When able, assisting with transportation to medical appointments, shopping support, and family help.
Participating in Amen to Action.
Attending the National, Diocesan Annual, and President meetings.
The Ladies of Charity at Archangel Gabriel Parish meet on the third Thursday of the month at 6:30 PM. On March 16, 2023, the meeting will be held at Weirauch Hall on the St. Malachy Campus.
