Please allow this announcement to serve as an update regarding the structural issues that were discovered this past summer with the rose window in St. Mary, Help of Christians Church. The encasement that holds the stained glass in place has deteriorated and has required the installation of protective scaffolding as a safety precaution. Over the last several months, our parish leadership has been gathering more information from contractors and stained glass specialists to determine how best to handle the structural and maintenance needs with the window.
Additionally, Fr. Alan and Ken Zern have met with diocesan officials to discuss the situation and seek consultation on how to proceed. As a result of this consultation, a complete evaluation of the church building is essential to understand the full scope of work that would be necessary to address all safety concerns and additional maintenance needs. The parish is currently working to obtain these assessments.
Updates will be provided to parishioners as the process continues to unfold. Thank you for your continued patience as we work through the many details involved in the process.
