If you have ever attended St. Malachy’s 8:00 AM Mass, two of the faces there to greet you are Chuck and Mimi Schneider. They have been members of the parish since their marriage in 1984. Prior to that, Chuck was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, and Mimi was a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish. They have three children, Allie (Justin), Kevin (Britta), and Eric (Harley), and one grandson, Finn. In their free time, the enjoy bike riding, paddle boarding, skiing, antique cars, and visiting their out-of-town family.
Chuck, a retired automotive repair shop owner, has been an usher for over 20 years. During COVID, he helped facilitate the parking lot Mass, including streaming hymns as the congregants arrived, giving the parking lot a more spiritual feel. Other contributions to the parish include volunteering for the Nationality Festival as chairperson of the Big Six booth and also as the parking coordinator. Chuck assists with the concession stand at BINGO and served on the parish council under Fr. Brennan’s leadership.
Mimi is a retired Montour School Nurse, whose duties included covering St. Malachy and Holy Trinity Schools for emergencies and annual mandated screenings. Mimi is a Eucharistic Minister, has volunteered for the Nationality Festival, taught Vacation Bible School, and served on the Parish Council under the leadership of Fr. Michael.
Chuck and Mimi were both raised in the Catholic Church. Chuck attended St. James and St. Phillip Schools, and graduated from Montour High School. Mimi attended St. Francis de Sales Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Canevin High School.
